The Process
Thompson’s Woodcraft Since 1972
The making of these bowls, each of which is unique, is a long process. Lets See the process.
1
It starts with a hardwood log which Wilfred splits vertically then cuts into the approximate shapes.
2
He turns the bowl a first time on the lathe while still green.
3
Then it is left to dry for approximately six months.
4
Once the drying process is complete, he proceeds with the final shaping of the bowl on the lathe.
5
The product is then finished with oils or sprays.
6
After that, it is placed in his attractive showroom at the front of the shop which is located in North Bedeque, Prince Edward Island.
